Handyman in Tempelhof-Schöneberg – right next door to our office

Few boroughs change as much from north to south. Friedenau came through the war comparatively intact, so the streets around Breslauer Platz are still mostly Gründerzeit buildings. The Bayerisches Viertel and Akazienkiez mix surviving pre-war blocks with post-war rebuilding. South of the Ringbahn, in Tempelhof and Mariendorf, it’s mainly estates from the 1920s to the 1960s: terraced and detached houses with gardens.

In Friedenau and Schöneberg flats, jobs often come bundled: painting walls and ceilings, adding a light or a few sockets, swapping a dripping tap. Many flats have their own gas boiler (Gasetagenheizung). A radiator that won’t heat up or a stuck valve is our job; the boiler itself goes to a firm registered for gas work.

The houses in Tempelhof and Mariendorf are a different story. Most have been modernised bit by bit over decades, so wiring and fuses can date from several eras. A new kitchen, outdoor sockets or a bathroom that’s no longer quite watertight are typical requests in this kind of house. We look at what’s there before we give you a price.

Plenty of Schöneberg Altbau buildings have no lift, and many flats are in the rear wings off the courtyard. That matters for a move or furniture assembly, so we plan the route through the stairwell beforehand. We can apply for a no-parking zone from the borough’s traffic authority. If you’re handing a flat back, we schedule painting and final cleaning before the handover date.

Our office at Landhausstraße 31 is a short walk from the borough boundary. Bayerischer Platz is about 0.8 km in a straight line, Schöneberg town hall about 1 km, Breslauer Platz in Friedenau about 2 km. For Tempelhof – the town hall is about 5 km away – and Mariendorf beyond it, we take the A100 city motorway. Travel within Berlin is included in the fixed price.
