WohnWork Services is a Berlin trades company based in Wilmersdorf that runs moves within Berlin and across Germany with its own staff: furniture transport, dismantling and reassembly, packing and clear-outs. You get a written fixed price before moving day. On request we also handle the end-of-tenancy cleaning and small repairs in your old flat – all in English if you prefer.

Apartment moves in Berlin and across Germany

Wardrobes and beds are taken apart for transport and rebuilt in your new flat; lights can go up at the same time.

We deliver boxes and packing material in advance. If you like, we do the packing too – everything, or just the kitchen and fragile items.
Clear-outs and disposal
Whatever isn’t coming with you, we clear from the flat, cellar or attic and dispose of properly.
Storage
If there’s a gap between move-out and move-in, we help you arrange storage and bring your things over later.
Handing back the old flat
End-of-tenancy cleaning, filling drill holes, taking down lights: our own staff do it, so you deal with one contact only.

Moving in Berlin: courtyard, fourth floor, no lift
Plenty of Berlin moves go through a courtyard into a side or rear building – fourth floor, narrow staircase, no lift. That often drives the effort more than the distance between the two addresses. So before we give a price, we ask about floors, lifts and the route from the van to your front door.
Measure big items like the sofa, corner couch or wardrobe and compare them with the staircase and doors at the new place. If something won’t fit in one piece, we take it apart – or tell you honestly beforehand that it won’t make it up the stairs.
No-parking zone: apply early
On many Berlin streets there’s no space for a removal van outside the building. A temporary no-parking zone (Halteverbotszone) for moving day is requested from the traffic authority (Straßenverkehrsbehörde) of the relevant district office, and the signs have to be up several days before the date. So apply as soon as your date is fixed.
On request we handle the application and the signs for both addresses. The official fees are then shown separately in the quote.
Paperwork not to forget
In Germany you must register your new address (Anmeldung) at a Bürgeramt within two weeks of moving in, and your landlord has to give you a confirmation form (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung) for it. Switch or cancel electricity, internet and the broadcasting fee in good time, and note the meter readings on moving-out day – ideally with a photo.
How much do movers cost in Berlin?
With us the price is fixed before the van arrives: you describe your household, send photos of the rooms or show us round on a short video call. From that we give you a written fixed price. Boxes and packing material are charged at purchase price plus a customary margin and itemised in the quote.
If more comes up on moving day than agreed – an extra cellar room, say – we clear it with you first. Anything done without your approval is not billed. The invoice shows the labour share separately.

- Distance between the old and new flat
- Dismantling and assembly, packing and clear-outs
- Your date – the start and end of the month are busiest; planned costs less than short notice
How far ahead should I book movers?
As early as you can, especially around the turn of the month, when many Berlin tenancies end. We usually reply within one working day, and the quote follows once we’ve seen your photos or done the video viewing. Single-item transports are often possible as soon as the next working day. Our office at Landhausstraße 31 in Wilmersdorf is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
We move people in all twelve Berlin districts, from Spandau to Marzahn-Hellersdorf, and to other German cities on request.

Frequently asked questions
Do I get a fixed price for my move?
Yes. Based on your description, photos or a short video viewing, you receive a written fixed price. Anything extra on moving day only happens after we’ve agreed it with you – work done without your approval is not billed.
Do you move single pieces of furniture?
Yes. A sofa, a wardrobe or a few items from a flat clearance are a normal job for us. You get a fixed price upfront for those too, with dismantling and reassembly if needed.
Can you sort out the no-parking zone?
Yes, on request. We apply for the no-parking zone with the responsible traffic authority and arrange the signs. We need your date early for this, because the signs have to be up several days in advance.
Can you clean the old flat as well?
Yes. End-of-tenancy cleaning, filling drill holes and small repairs are done by our own staff, using the same checklists we use to hand over the furnished apartments we run. You don’t have to coordinate two companies – one contact, one invoice.
What happens to furniture I don’t want to keep?
We clear it out and dispose of it properly, either as part of the move or as a separate clear-out of cellar or attic. Tell us beforehand what’s going, and it’s included in the fixed price.
Are moving costs tax-deductible in Germany?
Often, yes. The labour cost of a private move is generally recognised as a household-related service: 20 percent, up to a 4,000 euro tax reduction per year. We show the labour share separately. A job-related move follows different rules – check with a tax adviser if in doubt.
Are your movers English-speaking?
Yes. Enquiry, viewing, quote, moving day and invoice can all run in English. That’s why many internationals use us when they move within Berlin or arrive in the city for the first time.
