What we assemble and mount
We build whatever you’ve bought, from any brand – and fix it so that it stays put.
Furniture assembly
Wardrobes and sliding-door wardrobes, beds, chests of drawers, desks and sideboards, built to the manufacturer’s instructions with doors and drawers properly aligned.
IKEA and other flat-pack
PAX, MALM, KALLAX and the rest, plus furniture from other shops. We count the parts first, so anything missing shows up before half a wardrobe is standing.
Anti-tip fixing
Tall wardrobes and shelving units are secured to the wall with the anti-tip kit they come with – using wall plugs that suit your wall.
Shelves, pictures and mirrors
Wall shelves, picture ledges, heavy mirrors and coat racks – level, and fixed for the weight they actually carry.
Dismantling for a move
We take furniture apart for transport, bag and label the fittings and rebuild it at the new place – together with the move if you like.
Hanging light fittings
We can put up lights too; the electrical connection to the ceiling cable is done by our electrician in the same appointment.

Why the wall matters more than the wardrobe
In Berlin, a shelf rarely goes onto a simple wall. In pre-war buildings (Altbau) the outer walls are usually solid brick, but partition walls can be thin gypsum board panels or plastered reed. Newer flats and conversions often have plasterboard, and the prefab blocks (Plattenbau) have hard concrete. Each needs a different drill bit and a different wall plug – a universal plug from the DIY store doesn’t hold everywhere.
So before drilling we check what the wall is made of and choose plugs and screws to suit the wall and the load. By the way, flat-pack furniture usually comes without wall plugs on purpose: the manufacturer can’t know what your wall is.
Cables in the wall – find them first
In newer buildings cables usually run straight up, down or sideways from switches and sockets. In an Altbau they often run wherever was convenient during the last renovation. We scan every drilling point with a detector first and don’t drill blind next to sockets or above light switches.
If a light needs to be connected rather than just hung, our electrician does it. Fitted kitchens are a separate job with worktops, water and appliance connections – see our kitchen installation page for that.
Getting ready for the appointment
Leave the boxes unopened, if you can, in the room where the piece will stand, and keep the instructions handy if you’ve already taken them out. Clear a bit of floor space for laying out the parts. We can take the packaging away on request – mention it in your enquiry and it goes into the quote.
How much does furniture assembly cost in Berlin?
The price is fixed before we start: send us a list of the furniture, ideally with product names or links, plus a photo of any wall where something is to be mounted. You receive a written fixed price, with travel within Berlin included. Fixings are charged at purchase price plus a customary margin and itemised in the quote.
If a part is missing or the wall turns out to need more work than expected, we stop and talk to you first. Anything done without your approval is not billed. The invoice shows the labour share separately, so you can claim it on your German tax return under § 35a of the Income Tax Act.
What determines the price
- Number and size of the pieces
- Sliding doors, interior fittings and wardrobe lighting
- Wall mounting and wall type – gypsum panel, plasterboard, brick or concrete
- Planned appointment or short-notice job – planned costs less
How soon can a fitter come?
We usually reply to enquiries within one working day, and appointments are often available as soon as the next working day. If you already know when your furniture will be delivered, we can book the assembly straight after. Our office at Landhausstraße 31 in Wilmersdorf is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
We assemble in all twelve Berlin districts, from Spandau to Marzahn-Hellersdorf, on the same fixed-price principle.

Frequently asked questions
Do you assemble IKEA furniture?
Yes. We know the common IKEA systems, from wardrobes to bed frames. We build furniture from other brands and online shops just the same. Tell us the products when you get in touch and the price is fixed upfront.
Will you come out for a single piece of furniture?
Yes. A single wardrobe, a bed or a few pictures is a perfectly normal job for us. You get a fixed price based on the actual work, and travel within Berlin is already included.
Does a tall wardrobe need fixing to the wall?
Yes, we strongly recommend it. Tall wardrobes and shelving can tip over, especially with children in the home or when drawers are pulled right out. That’s why manufacturers include an anti-tip kit. We fix it with plugs that suit your wall.
Can I mount a TV or heavy shelf on plasterboard?
It depends on the weight and the construction. With the right cavity fixings plasterboard holds more than many people think; for very heavy loads we look for the studs behind it. If a wall isn’t suitable for the load you have in mind, we tell you before drilling.
Can you take furniture apart and rebuild it when I move?
Yes. We dismantle furniture for transport, label the small parts and reassemble everything in the new flat. We can handle the transport as well, so it all runs as one job with one invoice.
Do you connect lights as well?
Yes, in the same appointment. Hanging the light and connecting it to the ceiling cable is then done by our electrician, because work on mains wiring belongs with a qualified person. Let us know how many lights there are when you enquire.
Do your fitters speak English?
Yes. Enquiry, quote, appointment and invoice can run entirely in English – handy if you’ve just moved to Berlin and are furnishing a flat from scratch. The fitter on site can talk you through everything in English too.
